Military Deserves the Full Support of Nigerians – President Bola Tinubu

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has reaffirmed the crucial role of the Nigerian Armed Forces, emphasizing that every citizen owes unwavering support and encouragement to the brave men and women who dedicate their lives to safeguarding the nation.

Speaking on Wednesday during the Nigerian Guild of Editors (NGE) Conference held in Abuja, the President praised the military for their unmatched sacrifice and resilience in protecting the territorial integrity of the country and maintaining peace amid growing security challenges.

Tinubu commended the gallant soldiers, officers, and all personnel across the various branches of the military — the Nigerian Army, Navy, and Air Force — for their commitment to national unity and their selfless contributions to the stability of Nigeria.

He highlighted that despite the numerous challenges facing the country, including insurgency, banditry, and other internal security threats, the Nigerian military continues to stand firm in ensuring that citizens live in peace and security.

According to the President, the military remains a pillar of strength and courage, representing hope and unity for the nation. He therefore urged Nigerians to show gratitude and moral support to them, noting that true patriotism is reflected in how the public treats those who defend their homeland.

“Our soldiers, airmen, and naval officers are making tremendous sacrifices daily — in the deserts, forests, and waters of this nation. Their courage and endurance deserve our highest respect and full support,” Tinubu said.

He further reiterated his administration’s commitment to strengthening the welfare, training, and operational capacity of the armed forces to ensure that Nigeria remains secure and prosperous.

The President also called on journalists and editors under the Nigerian Guild of Editors to continue to promote unity, peace, and truth in their reportage, reminding them that responsible journalism plays a vital role in supporting national institutions, including the military.

Tinubu emphasized that a nation’s progress is deeply tied to the value it places on those who defend it, adding that collective support for the military not only honors their service but also strengthens national morale and unity.

He concluded by expressing optimism that with collective cooperation between the government, the armed forces, and citizens, Nigeria will overcome its current challenges and move toward sustainable peace and development.
