Dr. Beta Edu, the former Minister of Humanitarian Affairs, has praised Nigerian workers for their unwavering resilience, dedication, and their invaluable contributions to the development of the nation, describing them as the “engine of the nation.”
In her May Day message addressed to Nigerian workers, which she personally signed, Edu emphasized that the occasion is not only a celebration of the workers’ achievements but also a reminder of the essential role they play in the lives of millions of Nigerians.
“I celebrate and acknowledge your tireless efforts, dedication, and contributions in various sectors throughout Nigeria,” she stated.
Edu also acknowledged the significant role Nigerian workers play in driving progress and development, particularly under the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
“Your hard work, resilience, and unwavering commitment to advancing the nation’s progress are deeply appreciated,” she remarked.
In her message, Edu applauded the government’s initiatives aimed at offering Nigerian workers decent work incentives, including wage awards, fair pay, and improved working conditions.
“Let us remain united in solidarity to achieve greater development for our nation, Nigeria, as the government continues to enhance working conditions and introduce further incentives for workers under this administration.”
She concluded by stressing that May Day should serve as a day to celebrate workers’ achievements and a reminder of the immense value they bring to millions of Nigerians.
