An unidentified individual reportedly plunged from one of the upper floors of the 26-storey Cocoa House Tower in Ibadan, Oyo State, on Monday morning, causing widespread alarm among business occupants and visitors to the building.
LMSINT MEDIA learned that the tragic occurrence took place in the early hours of Monday, throwing the commercial premises into a state of commotion and concern.
Speaking anonymously with our correspondent on Tuesday, one eyewitness recounted the moment, saying,
“At first, I assumed a large bird was falling from the sky. It wasn’t until the person hit the ground that I realised it was a human being. I had my phone in hand, but I couldn’t even think of recording anything—I was frozen in shock.”
Another observer added,
“The man initially struck a rooftop near the building’s security post before landing. It was an extremely horrifying scene.”
As of the time of filing this report, the full details surrounding the incident remain unclear as investigations are still ongoing.
In a public statement issued in Ibadan on Tuesday by Odu’a Investment Company Limited, the firm responsible for managing Cocoa House, the incident was officially confirmed.
According to the company’s Head of Branding and Communication, Victor Ayetoro,
“The individual involved was immediately attended to by emergency responders and transported to the University College Hospital (UCH), Ibadan, for emergency care.
We deeply regret the occurrence and are working closely with the authorities to uncover the cause of this unfortunate incident.”
