Despite suffering a 3-2 loss to Fulham on Sunday, Liverpool’s path to becoming Premier League champions remains clear. The Reds’ first away defeat of the season at Craven Cottage ended their remarkable 26-match unbeaten streak in the league.
The match saw Liverpool take an early lead thanks to Alexis Mac Allister’s goal, but Fulham responded with a strong performance, securing three goals from Ryan Sessegnon, Alex Iwobi, and Rodrigo Muniz. Luis Díaz pulled one back for Liverpool, but the team was unable to equalize, leaving them with a narrow defeat.
Even with the loss, Liverpool only needs to secure 11 more points to be mathematically crowned Premier League champions. Their closest competitors, Arsenal, trail them by the same number of points, leaving the Reds in a strong position.
The earliest Liverpool could confirm their title win is on May 4, provided they defeat West Ham, Leicester City, Tottenham, and Chelsea in their upcoming matches. A victory at Stamford Bridge would clinch the title, making it a historic moment for the club.
However, Liverpool’s chances of winning the title could be confirmed even sooner if Arsenal falters in their next fixtures. Arsenal will face Brentford, Ipswich, Crystal Palace, and Bournemouth in their following league matches.
