Lagos Assembly Overturns Nomination of Adebisi Adelabu as LASPAA General Manager

The Lagos State House of Assembly has officially overturned the nomination of Mrs. Adebisi Adelabu as the General Manager of the Lagos State Parking Authority (LASPAA).
This resolution was reached during the Assembly’s plenary session held on Monday, where legislators reviewed the screening committee’s findings before making their final decision.

According to a statement shared with LMSINT MEDIA on Monday evening, the Chairman of the Screening Committee, Hon. Mojeed Fatai, confirmed that the committee had thoroughly examined all relevant details concerning her nomination. After presenting its comprehensive report before the House, the lawmakers collectively agreed to reject and nullify her appointment.

During the plenary, the Assembly emphasized its commitment to ensuring that every leadership position within state agencies aligns with statutory requirements, proper screening procedures, and public expectations.
The decision reflects the lawmakers’ resolve to uphold due process and ensure that individuals occupying sensitive public roles meet established standards.

Hon. Fatai noted that the committee’s findings were carefully evaluated before the House adopted its final position. The unanimous agreement of the Assembly members further demonstrated the weight of the committee’s recommendations and the importance placed on credible leadership within Lagos State’s administrative structure.

The Lagos State Parking Authority, LASPAA, plays a central role in regulating parking policies and improving transportation orderliness across the state. Therefore, the Assembly stressed the need for capable leadership to drive efficient and transparent operations within the agency.

With the nullification now approved, the government is expected to initiate fresh procedures to fill the position with another nominee who satisfies all necessary criteria and aligns with the state’s strategic objectives.
