The Lagos State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has officially welcomed Dr. Abdul-Azeez Adediran, popularly known as Jandor, and his supporters back into the party. Jandor, who was the 2023 gubernatorial candidate of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), cited internal party issues and leadership betrayals as reasons for his exit from the opposition.

Jandor Returns to APC After PDP Exit

According to a report by the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), Adediran announced his resignation from the PDP on March 3, stating that the party lacked discipline and failed to uphold its promises. His return to APC marks a significant political shift in Lagos State, as he initially left the ruling party in 2021 to contest under the PDP banner.

Speaking on the development, Lagos APC spokesman Mr. Seye Oladejo expressed enthusiasm about Jandor’s decision to rejoin the party.

“We are delighted to have him back. His return underscores the reality that Lagos remains a stronghold of progressive governance, ensuring stability and development,” Oladejo stated in an interview with NAN.

More Political Figures Set to Join Lagos APC

Oladejo further hinted that Jandor’s return could pave the way for more defections from opposition parties.

“We anticipate more politicians aligning with APC in the coming weeks. Our doors remain open to those who wish to contribute positively to Lagos State’s governance and development,” he added.

Jandor’s homecoming is expected to reshape the political landscape in Lagos, reinforcing APC’s dominance ahead of future elections.
