Despite the earlier setback, the Vatican released a statement confirming that Pope Francis was delighted to receive the royal couple in a private audience. The Holy Father also offered warm congratulations to King Charles and Queen Camilla, who were celebrating their 20th wedding anniversary that very day.

According to an official statement from Buckingham Palace, the king and queen were deeply pleased to see Pope Francis in good health and grateful for the opportunity to exchange warm wishes in person.
