Rev Fr Ibrahim Amos Of Kaduna Released Safely After Bandit Abduction

The Catholic Diocese of Kafanchan has joyfully confirmed the safe return of Reverend Father Ibrahim Amos, who was abducted earlier this week by unidentified gunmen.

Fr. Amos, who serves as the Parish Priest at St. Gerald Quasi Parish in Kurmin Risga, a community within the Kauru Local Government Area of Kaduna State, was reportedly taken from his parish residence during the early hours of Thursday morning by armed bandits.

In an official statement released Thursday night, Rev. Fr. Jacob Shanet, the Chancellor of the Diocese, disclosed that Fr. Amos had regained his freedom and returned home without physical harm at approximately 10:00 PM.

Fr. Shanet extended heartfelt gratitude to the security forces and the general public, emphasizing their vital role in securing the priest’s release through their support and persistent prayers.

“Your heartfelt prayers, solidarity, and unwavering support reflect a powerful reminder that we are united in defending the sanctity and dignity of human life,” said Fr. Shanet.

He further expressed appreciation to the Blessed Virgin Mary, calling for her continuous intercession on behalf of those still held in captivity across the country.

“We remain grateful to God and all who journeyed with us during this difficult period. May Our Lady, Queen of Priests, along with all the angels, intercede for those still in captivity and guide them back to safety,” he added.

This event underscores the ongoing security challenges in Kaduna State, where frequent abductions and acts of violence have placed communities under constant threat.
