Big Brother Naija star Kiddwaya has addressed the public backlash that followed his request for financial support to aid victims of the recent tragic incident in Benue State.
According to a report from LMSINT MEDIA, the Yelewata community in Benue State was attacked last weekend by individuals suspected to be herdsmen, resulting in the tragic loss of over 200 lives.
In the wake of this horrifying event, Kiddwaya, through his personal foundation, made an emotional appeal for donations from Nigerians to support the affected families.
However, his request for public contributions sparked widespread outrage due to his luxurious and high-profile lifestyle frequently showcased on social media platforms.
Following the intense criticism, the reality TV personality promptly deleted the donation appeal post from his X (formerly Twitter) account.
Responding to the ongoing criticism and controversy, Kiddwaya remarked:
“I appreciate the attention this is getting because it brings critical awareness to the situation in Benue. I truly thank everyone. That said, all donations received will go toward assisting affected families with essentials like housing, food, clothing, and medical care.”
He further urged those directly affected by the tragedy to reach out via email so his foundation can offer urgent help.
