Kanye West Pleads for Diddy’s Release Ahead of Trial
Kanye West has publicly appealed to former U.S. President Donald Trump, urging him to intervene in the legal case of Sean “Diddy” Combs, who is facing serious charges.
The 24-time Grammy-winning rapper took to social media on Thursday, passionately requesting Trump to grant Combs a pardon before his scheduled trial on May 5.
West posted on X (formerly Twitter), writing “FREE PUFF”, followed by a direct appeal: “@realDonaldTrump PLEASE FREE MY BROTHER PUFF.”
He also criticized the entertainment industry for remaining silent on Combs’ situation, expressing his frustration by stating:
“WATCH OUR BROTHER ROT AND NEVER SAY S—,”
“WE ALL WATCHED THEM TAKE CHRIS BROWN AND AIN’T NOBODY DO NOTHING I WAS P— THEN TOO. CHRIS BROWN, IT’S TO THE WHEELS FALL OFF.”
West’s comments come in the wake of Trump’s controversial decision to pardon nearly 1,500 individuals involved in the January 6th Capitol riot.
Diddy Faces Severe Legal Challenges
Sean Combs, 55, was arrested by the NYPD on September 16 and has been denied bail three times. He is currently facing multiple charges, including:
- Racketeering
- Sex trafficking
- Transporting individuals for prostitution
If convicted, he could face a life sentence.
Furthermore, Combs, widely known as Puff Daddy, is entangled in multiple sexual assault lawsuits. One case notably involves hip-hop mogul Jay-Z as a co-defendant, and several of Combs’ accusers are minors, including a 10-year-old boy.
