Former Valencia CF player José Castillejo has tragically lost his life due to the recent flash floods that have wreaked havoc across Spain. These intense storms, known as DANA (Depresión Aislada en Niveles Altos), have led to widespread destruction, leaving countless families mourning the loss of their loved ones.

Valencia CF, where José Castillejo began his football journey as a youth player, paid tribute to him in a heartfelt statement, expressing their sorrow over his passing. The club noted, “We regret the death of José Castillejo, a victim of the DANA disasters. He was part of the club’s Academy until his youth stage and played for several teams in the Valencian Community. Rest in peace.”

CD Eldense, another club where Castillejo played, also shared their condolences: “We have received terrible news due to the catastrophic DANA. We deeply regret José Castillejo’s passing at just 28 years old. He was a former player during the 2015/2016 season, and we extend our heartfelt sympathies to his family and friends.”
