The verdict was delivered on Tuesday by Judge Shawomi Bokkos of an Area Court. Weng Pam pleaded guilty to the charges. The judge, however, provided an alternative punishment, allowing the convict to pay a fine of ₦30,000 and compensation of ₦50,000 to the complainant. Failure to pay the compensation would result in an additional six months of imprisonment.

The Police Prosecutor, Inspector Ijuptil Daniel, stated that the incident occurred on December 14, 2024, and was reported by Mr. Jerry Pam at the B Division Police Station, Bukuru.
