Jorginho, the experienced Arsenal midfielder, is preparing to sign a three-year contract with Flamengo, which will keep him at the Brazilian club until 2028.
This development was shared by renowned football transfer journalist Fabrizio Romano on his official X (formerly Twitter) account late Monday evening.
Romano revealed that the Italy international will leave Arsenal as a free agent at the conclusion of the current season to join Flamengo.
He posted, “Jorginho set to join Flamengo on free transfer, here we go!
The plan has been in motion since January, and the agreement is now nearing completion for the midfielder, who is leaving Arsenal in June.
A three-year agreement extending until 2028 has been verbally finalized with Flamengo, as reported by @venecasagrande. Jorginho has given his approval.”
The midfielder initially made his move to the Premier League in 2018, transferring from Napoli to Chelsea.
After spending five years at Chelsea’s Stamford Bridge, Jorginho transitioned to Arsenal in 2023 at the age of 33.
