On March 12, 2025, at approximately 10:00 PM, residents of Jikas-Dabaja village in Gwaram Local Government Area discovered the decomposing remains of a headless body along the roadside. The police investigation later confirmed that the corpse belonged to Bashir Adamu, a student under Wada’s care.

Following the arrest, detectives transferred Wada to the State Criminal Investigation Department in Dutse for further questioning.
