Video footage has surfaced following a targeted Israeli airstrike on the headquarters of Islamic Republic of Iran Broadcasting (IRIB) in Tehran on Monday, June 16, 2025.
The footage, now circulating across various social platforms, shows the IRIB building engulfed in flames, with thick columns of smoke rising into the sky. One injured individual, with visible blood on his hands, is seen speaking directly to the camera as emergency sirens blare in the background.
This strike is part of the intensifying military tension between Israel and Iran, which led to a temporary blackout of live broadcasts, causing confusion and disarray within the station.
Moments before the signal cut off, live transmission revealed a news anchor abruptly exiting the studio amid sounding alarms and tremors shaking the facility. The attack created visible panic, but the station managed to resume live operations within hours.
Despite the chaos and destruction, IRIB resumed broadcasting and declared its determination to keep operating. Hassan Abedini, a top IRIB figure, stated:
“The Zionist regime, the enemy of the Iranian nation, minutes ago conducted a military operation against the Islamic Republic of Iran news network.
The regime [Israel] was unaware of the fact that the voice of the Islamic revolution and the great Iran will not be silenced with a military operation.”
