The Director-General of the Atum Humanitarian, Anti-Corruption and Charitable Initiative (AHACCI), Ismaila Atus, has reaffirmed his firm belief that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s government will successfully tackle terrorism, banditry, and the wider national security issues troubling the country.

Atus made this known during a media engagement on Wednesday, where he emphasized that the current administration possesses the commitment and strategy necessary to curb violent crimes and restore stability across Nigeria. He stated that despite the frightening rise in insecurity, there is still hope that the government will record significant progress in dismantling terrorist networks and criminal groups.

His remarks follow a worrying wave of abductions in several states—including Niger, Kebbi, Kano, and Kwara—within the last week. Communities in these regions have been grappling with continuous threats posed by kidnappers and bandits, heightening fear among residents.

Atus explained that terrorism and banditry have deeply affected the nation for years, but he remains optimistic that the coordinated efforts of the Tinubu administration, security agencies, and community stakeholders will yield meaningful results. He encouraged citizens to maintain faith in ongoing security operations, noting that the fight against violent groups requires time, intelligence, and unified cooperation.

He further stressed that the administration’s stance on national safety has shown serious determination, pointing to recent military activities aimed at weakening criminal elements. Atus reiterated that although insecurity remains a major concern, the President’s approach demonstrates readiness to confront these threats in a sustainable manner.

Atus concluded by urging Nigerians to support security initiatives and remain vigilant while authorities continue to strategize and respond to challenges. He believes that through consistent collaboration and firm political will, terrorism and banditry will eventually be defeated in Nigeria.
