In a shocking development, gunmen suspected to be kidnappers have abducted a man, his wife, their son, and two others in the Chikakore area of Kubwa, located in the Bwari Area Council of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Abuja.
The attack occurred in the early hours of Monday, around 12:00 am, leaving the community in fear and disarray.
Details of the Incident
Reports indicate that the gunmen, numbering about 30 and heavily armed with AK-47 rifles, stormed the residence of Adefija Michael Akinropo. In the coordinated attack, they kidnapped Akinropo, his wife, his son, and his elder brother.
The assailants extended their operation to a nearby building housing a poultry farm, where they abducted another man and left his wife with injuries during the raid.
Police Response
When contacted regarding the incident, Josephine Adeh, the Public Relations Officer of the Federal Capital Territory Police Command, assured the public that efforts were being made to obtain further details about the situation. She stated, “Let me get details from the DPO; I will get back to you.”
This latest attack has heightened concerns about the security situation in Abuja and surrounding areas, as residents are now demanding swift action from security agencies to ensure the safety of lives and property.
