Gunmen Storm Elyon Paradise Ministry Church in Delta: Pastor Shot, Six Worshippers Abducted
In a shocking incident, gunmen stormed the Elyon Paradise Ministry Church during a night vigil at Asagba Ogwashi, Aniocha South Local Government Area of Delta State, leaving chaos and fear in their wake. The armed attackers shot the church’s pastor, Apostle Divine Omodia, and abducted six worshippers, whisking them away to an unknown location.
The Delta State Police Command’s spokesperson, Mr. Bright Edafe, confirmed the incident, stating that the attack was reported on Saturday evening. According to Edafe, a specialized rescue team has been deployed into the surrounding forest areas to track down the kidnappers and secure the safe release of the abducted victims.
Witnesses revealed that the attack occurred during a night vigil, catching worshippers off guard. The assailants not only shot Apostle Omodia but also inflicted severe injuries, severing two of his fingers before fleeing the scene with the kidnapped victims. The pastor was immediately rushed to a local hospital, where medical teams are working tirelessly to stabilize his condition.
As of now, the abductors have not made any ransom demands, leaving families and the local community in deep distress. Authorities continue to search the dense bushlands surrounding the area, hoping to rescue the victims unharmed.
This violent incident has once again raised concerns over security in worship centers across Delta State, highlighting the growing need for increased safety measures.
