In a shocking incident, a 55-year-old church leader, Prophet Abayomi Adetula, was tragically murdered during a Sunday service at his church, Celestial Hebrew Cathedral Special, located in Idiroko, Ipokia Local Government Area, Ogun State.
The attack occurred on Sunday, January 19th, at approximately 10 a.m. while the prophet was ministering to his congregation.
Details of the Attack
Eyewitnesses and residents of Old Baggage Road, where the church is located, recounted the horrifying events. According to reports, gunmen stormed the church minutes after the service began and targeted Prophet Adetula.
“They initially shot at him, but the bullets did not penetrate his body,” a witness revealed.
Faced with this, the assailants resorted to using other deadly weapons, including a hammer and machete, to inflict fatal injuries on the prophet. Witnesses believe the attack was premeditated and carried out by hired assassins.
Images shared with reporters revealed the brutal nature of the attack, with evidence of machete wounds and blood still visible at the scene.
