The Nigerian Guild of Editors (NGE), Senate Press Corps (SPC), and House of Representatives Press Corps have extended heartfelt congratulations to Mr. Soneye, the Chief Corporate Communications Officer at Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL), for his recent recognition as the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR) Spokesman of the Year for 2025.

They praised his commitment to providing timely, accurate, and impactful communication. “Your victory is no surprise to us, given your impressive track record that has earned you similar accolades,” the Senate Press Corps noted. They highlighted the significant impact of Soneye’s communication strategies, especially his introduction of quarterly strategic engagements, which have benefited all 96 members of the Senate Press Corps.
Likewise, the House of Representatives Press Corps, in a statement from its Chairman, Gboyega Onadiran, highlighted Soneye’s professionalism, visionary leadership, and dedication to strategic communication. “Your leadership at NNPCL has consistently exemplified the highest standards of public engagement, earning you well-deserved respect within and outside the corporate communications sector,” the statement read.
The House Press Corps also acknowledged the tangible contributions Soneye has made to their professional development, citing his role in enhancing the capacity of the Corps through investments in training and provision of resources. “This support has significantly improved our efficiency, and we are deeply appreciative of your understanding of the critical role media plays in fostering democratic governance,” the statement concluded.
