Kaduna State Government Launches Massive Recruitment of Health Workers
In a major move to improve healthcare services, Governor Uba Sani has sanctioned the recruitment of 1,800 health professionals across all Primary Healthcare Centers (PHCs) in Kaduna State. This initiative is aimed at addressing the shortage of medical personnel and enhancing healthcare delivery.
Kaduna Health Commissioner Confirms Recruitment Plan
Announcing the decision, Hajiya Umma Ahmad, Kaduna’s Commissioner for Health, emphasized that this recruitment aligns with the administration’s commitment to strengthening the state’s primary healthcare system.
She noted that filling these human resource gaps will reduce maternal and child mortality rates while ensuring better access to quality healthcare for residents.
Revitalization of 255 Primary Healthcare Centers in Kaduna
The Kaduna State Government is also undertaking a comprehensive upgrade of 255 PHC facilities, equipping them with modern medical tools and essential drugs.
Hajiya Umma Ahmad confirmed that all PHCs in Kaduna will be remodeled and upgraded to Level 2 status, enabling them to provide:
✅ Management of uncomplicated diabetes and hypertension
✅ Emergency resuscitation for severe asthma cases
✅ Assisted deliveries and essential maternity care
✅ Expanded medical services to improve patient care

Since assuming office on May 29, 2023, Governor Uba Sani has prioritized the healthcare sector, ensuring that necessary human and infrastructural resources are available to enhance medical service delivery.
His administration remains dedicated to making quality healthcare accessible to every Kaduna resident.
