Governor Hyacinth Alia of Benue State has officially unveiled Nigerian music icon, Innocent Idibia, popularly known as 2Face, as the new Technical Adviser for Entertainment and Community Outreach. In this role, 2Face will be responsible for several critical initiatives aimed at boosting the state’s entertainment sector and fostering community engagement.
LMSINT MEDIA recalls that the announcement was made on Wednesday when 2Face visited the Government House in Makurdi. Governor Alia took to his official Facebook page on Thursday to highlight the key areas 2Face will focus on in his new capacity.
According to the governor, the musician will play a pivotal role in:
- Mentoring Emerging Musical Talents: 2Face will provide guidance and mentorship to young and upcoming artists across Benue State, helping them hone their skills and achieve success in the industry.
- Promoting Benue’s Musical Diversity: A significant aspect of 2Face’s role will be to showcase and celebrate the state’s rich musical cultures, which include various ethnic groups such as Etulo, Idoma, Igede, Tiv, and others. This initiative will aim to give local music recognition on both a national and international level.
- Talent Promotion and Nurturing: 2Face will collaborate with talent managers to identify, nurture, and promote Benue’s brightest musical stars, helping them to reach the heights of stardom.
- Organizing Talent Hunt Competitions: The governor revealed that 2Face would spearhead the organization of annual talent competitions and events. These initiatives will focus on fostering unity, peace, and development within the state.
- Securing Funding for Entertainment Initiatives: As part of his new responsibilities, 2Face will work to secure funding from government bodies, non-governmental organizations (NGOs), and corporate entities. This funding will be used to support entertainment initiatives and create opportunities for the youth of Benue State.
With 2Face’s expertise and influence in the entertainment industry, Governor Alia hopes that these initiatives will help transform Benue into a vibrant hub for music and talent development, positively impacting the state’s economy and social development.
