Ghana Deports 42 Nigerians and Other Foreign Nationals Over Prostitution and Fraud Allegations

In a recent crackdown on criminal activities involving foreign nationals, Ghana has deported a total of 42 Nigerians from the Ashanti Region following court rulings related to prostitution, fraud, and other associated offences.

The announcement was officially made through a Facebook post by the Ashanti Regional Minister, Frank Amoakohene, on Thursday, December 18, 2025. The post highlighted that the deportations were part of legal proceedings against individuals involved in organized criminal activities, including those linked to Q-Net operations and prostitution networks.

Other Foreign Nationals Deported

Aside from the 42 Nigerians, the deportations also included other African nationals. These were:

• 13 Cameroonian nationals
• 3 Ivorian nationals
• 3 Burkinabe nationals
• 7 nationals from Benin

This brings the total number of African nationals deported under these court rulings to 68 individuals.

Minister Amoakohene commended the Ghana Immigration Service (GIS) for its professionalism and strict adherence to immigration laws while ensuring that the rights and dignity of the deportees were respected throughout the process. He wrote:

“A total of 42 Nigerians, 13 Cameroonians, 3 Ivorians, 3 Burkinabe nationals, and 7 Benin nationals have been deported from the Ashanti Region to their respective countries following various court rulings involving Q-Net, prostitution, and other criminal activities. I commend the Ghana Immigration Service for its professionalism, diligence, and firm commitment to enforcing our immigration laws, while upholding due process and human dignity.”
