Katsina NSCDC College Staff Quarters Damaged by Fire
A devastating fire outbreak has caused significant damage to the staff quarters at the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) College for Peace and Disaster Management (CPCDM) in Babbar Ruga, Katsina State. The Katsina State Commandant of NSCDC, Aminu Datti Ahmad, visited the site to evaluate the extent of the destruction and coordinate recovery efforts.
NSCDC and Fire Service Contain the Fire
The fire, which ignited on Monday, March 24, 2025, engulfed three rooms before spreading further. Despite its persistence until Tuesday, March 25, 2025, emergency responders, including Federal and State Fire Services, successfully extinguished the flames.
To manage the crisis, Commandant Ahmad, accompanied by a specialized Disaster Response Team, collaborated with firefighters, medical teams, and operational personnel to ensure swift intervention.
Authorities Investigate Fire Outbreak
ACG Babangida Abdullahi Dutsanma, the College Commandant, expressed gratitude to the State Fire Service and local residents for their rapid response. He also conveyed the sympathies of the NSCDC Commandant General, Ahmed Abubakar Audi, to those affected by the disaster.
Given the mysterious nature of the incident, a committee of inquiry has been established to investigate the root cause of the fire and recommend measures to prevent future occurrences.

The NSCDC remains committed to ensuring safety within its facilities. In light of this incident, authorities are working on fire prevention strategies and enhanced disaster management protocols to protect lives and property.
