The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Police Command has officially commenced the enforcement of mandatory Third-Party Motor Vehicle Insurance in compliance with directives from the Inspector-General of Police, IGP Kayode Egbetokun. The implementation took effect on February 1, 2025.

In another major development, the FCT Police Command successfully rescued a young woman, Promise Eze, from a suspected armed robber and ritualist at a hotel in Wuse, Abuja, on January 31, 2025.
Acting on a distress call, police operatives arrived at the scene and found Promise Eze unconscious, tied to a chair, and her mouth taped shut. She was promptly rushed to Wuse District Hospital, where she regained consciousness.
Preliminary investigations revealed that the suspect, Emmanuel Okoro, had posed online as “Michael Prince,” an alleged oil company worker in Delta State. He lured Eze into meeting him in Abuja, where he attacked, restrained, and robbed her before fleeing.
Further disturbing details indicate that Eze overheard Okoro speaking to accomplices, suggesting plans to return and harm her further.
The FCT Police have launched a full-scale manhunt for Emmanuel Okoro and are urging the public to be cautious when meeting strangers online.
