The fourth round of the FA Cup promises thrilling clashes, with defending champions Manchester United set to host Leicester City at Old Trafford. The fixture brings added excitement as former United striker Ruud van Nistelrooy, now Leicester’s manager, will face his former club.
Van Nistelrooy, who served as Erik ten Hag’s assistant earlier this season and briefly as interim manager after Ten Hag’s dismissal, left the club following Ruben Amorim’s appointment. He now leads Leicester, aiming to steer them clear of the Premier League relegation zone. The Dutchman famously played a pivotal role in United’s 2004 FA Cup triumph over Millwall before transferring to Real Madrid in 2006.
Manchester United secured their spot in the fourth round after a dramatic 5-3 penalty shootout victory against Arsenal, following a 1-1 draw where Diogo Dalot received a red card.
Liverpool, who lead the Premier League and recently defeated Accrington Stanley 4-0, will travel to face Plymouth, who stunned Brentford with a 1-0 victory.
