‘Everyone Can Now Sleep Peacefully in Anambra’ Governor Charles Soludo Boasts Improved Security

Governor Charles Chukwuma Soludo, the executive governor of Anambra State, has proudly declared that the security situation across the state has significantly improved, assuring residents that “everybody can now sleep with their eyes closed.”

The governor made this known during an exclusive interview on Sunday Politics, a programme aired on Channels Television and monitored by Daily Post Nigeria.

According to Soludo, the state has witnessed remarkable progress in tackling insecurity, restoring peace, and ensuring that the lives and properties of citizens are adequately protected. He emphasized that Anambra, which was once considered unsafe due to the activities of criminal gangs, has now become a peaceful and secure environment for both residents and visitors.

“I can confidently say that Anambra is safer now than ever before. People can now sleep peacefully without fear. We have worked tirelessly to restore security in our communities,” the governor stated.

Governor Soludo highlighted his administration’s continuous efforts in reinforcing local security architecture, collaborating with law enforcement agencies, and empowering local vigilante groups to maintain peace across all local government areas.

He further explained that through intelligence gathering and strategic partnerships with community leaders, the state government has successfully curbed criminal activities such as kidnapping, armed robbery, and cult-related violence that previously threatened the safety of citizens.

The Anambra governor reiterated that his government will not relent in its mission to sustain the peace and security already established. He assured the people that the administration remains committed to making the state a hub for business, investment, and tourism in the Southeast region.

“Security is the foundation for development. Once people feel safe, businesses thrive, and communities grow stronger. That’s exactly what we are building in Anambra State,” Soludo added.

Many residents across major towns like Awka, Onitsha, and Nnewi have also confirmed noticeable improvement in night patrols, security checkpoints, and crime prevention measures in recent months.
