Manchester United has reportedly decided on a reduced transfer fee for winger Alejandro Garnacho, attracting attention from multiple top clubs ahead of the summer transfer window.
Among the clubs keen on acquiring the young Argentine talent is Chelsea FC, signaling serious interest in boosting their attacking options. The Premier League giants appear willing to part ways with Garnacho after what has been a rocky campaign for the Red Devils.
Despite delivering an impressive 11 goals and 10 assists across all competitions this season, Garnacho is one of the players on the club’s list of potential departures.
United’s 2024 season has concluded without any trophies, following their narrow 1-0 loss to Tottenham Hotspur in the UEFA Europa League final held on Wednesday.
Garnacho, a graduate of Manchester United’s youth academy, earned promotion to the first team in 2022. However, in a controversial move, he was relegated to the bench for the Europa League final in Bilbao, despite having started every knockout round prior. The winger later voiced his displeasure with head coach Ruben Amorim for the decision, igniting speculation about his future.
Back in January, Garnacho was linked with a potential switch to Chelsea and Napoli, though neither transfer came to fruition.
Following his outburst and amid growing tension, Amorim may now be open to letting the Argentine leave. According to The Telegraph, Manchester United is prepared to consider bids in the region of £60 million—a notable decrease from the £70 million valuation earlier reported by The Guardian in February.
This reduced asking price could open the door for Garnacho’s Premier League exit, depending on how negotiations unfold in the coming weeks.
