EPL: Shay Given Expresses Surprise Over Chelsea’s Decision to Sell Noni Madueke

Former Newcastle United shot-stopper, Shay Given, has openly questioned Chelsea’s decision to allow Noni Madueke to join their London rivals, Arsenal, during the summer transfer window.

Chelsea’s management sanctioned the sale of the England international despite his notable contributions to the team since arriving from PSV Eindhoven in 2023. The ex-Premier League goalkeeper further emphasized that Madueke’s growth is far from complete:

“Madueke is still young and has so much room for improvement. Working under Mikel Arteta at Arsenal will only enhance his game. From what I can see, he is enjoying his role and adapting quickly to life at the Emirates.”
