“I think there were three opportunities to stop that goal. First, Elanga’s goal was fantastic, no doubt about that, but from a defensive perspective, United could have done better.”

- Patrick Dorgu was out of position, failing to stay goal-side of Elanga. Ferdinand emphasized that defensive awareness should have been the priority, given Elanga’s speed.
- Alejandro Garnacho had a moment where he could have committed a tactical foul to stop the breakaway but failed to do so.
- Noussair Mazraoui hesitated in making a decisive intervention before Elanga reached the box, allowing the Forest attacker a clear shot at goal.
Ferdinand urged Manchester United’s players to take more responsibility in defense, stressing that these basic errors are costing the team valuable points.
