EPL: Manchester United place five players on transfer list ahead of summer window

The management of Manchester United is reportedly prepared to offload no fewer than five squad members during the forthcoming summer transfer window as part of plans to restructure the team.

According to reports from The Sun, the players being considered for sale are all signings made during the tenure of former manager Erik ten Hag. The individuals listed include striker Rasmus Højlund, who joined for £64 million, forward Joshua Zirkzee (£36.5m), midfielder Manuel Ugarte (£50.5m), goalkeeper André Onana (£43.8m), and midfielder Mason Mount (£55m).

The report further indicated that veteran players such as Casemiro and Harry Maguire could depart once their current contracts run out at the end of the season. In addition, loan players including Marcus Rashford and Jadon Sancho are also expected to be sold permanently if suitable offers arrive.

The club hierarchy is said to be determined to strengthen the squad before the next campaign begins, with efforts ongoing to appoint a long-term manager after the departure of Ruben Amorim earlier in the year.

During the previous transfer window, the Red Devils allowed several players to leave, including Alejandro Garnacho, Antony, Rashford and Sancho, with the latter two moving on temporary deals.

Meanwhile, the Premier League side also brought in fresh talent such as Bryan Mbeumo, Matheus Cunha, Benjamin Šeško and Senne Lammens as part of the rebuilding process.
