Former Manchester United legend Rio Ferdinand has weighed in on the ongoing English Premier League season, naming Liverpool FC as the club with the greatest potential to dominate this campaign.
Speaking on his YouTube channel after being asked about Arsenal’s dramatic comeback victory over Newcastle United during the weekend, Ferdinand pointed out that Liverpool stands out as the “team to beat.” According to the former England international, Jurgen Klopp’s side currently possesses the right balance of quality, tactical awareness, and winning mentality that makes them the most experienced contenders in the title race.
Ferdinand emphasized that while Arsenal’s resilience and determination in their comeback win deserve praise, the Merseyside giants have already demonstrated consistency across matches this season. Their ability to maintain pressure at crucial stages, combined with their proven squad depth, gives them an edge over rivals like Manchester City, Arsenal, Chelsea, and Tottenham Hotspur.
The ex-defender further highlighted that Liverpool’s experience in big games, coupled with their strong midfield upgrades and attacking firepower, makes them highly dangerous opponents. He noted that Klopp’s squad has shown remarkable progress compared to last season and could very well push for another Premier League title.
