Embrace Peace And Unity This Christmas: Gov. Zulum's Message To Nigerians

Borno State Governor, Prof. Babagana Umara Zulum, has extended heartfelt Christmas greetings to Nigerians, emphasizing the need for peace, unity, and support for the underprivileged to strengthen community bonds.

In a goodwill message issued by his spokesperson, Dauda Iliya, in Maiduguri, Governor Zulum encouraged citizens to use the festive season as an opportunity to foster harmony and togetherness.

“On behalf of the Borno State Government, I wish my Christian brothers and sisters a joyful Christmas celebration. I pray for peace, prosperity, and encourage everyone to extend a helping hand to the less privileged, thereby building stronger relationships within our communities,” the governor said.

Governor Zulum reaffirmed his administration’s unwavering dedication to the 10-Pact Agenda, the 25-Year Development Plan, and the 10-Year Strategic Initiatives aimed at rebuilding and repositioning Borno State. These efforts include post-conflict and post-flood recovery initiatives designed to improve living standards for residents.

Highlighting ongoing measures to address economic challenges, such as the removal of fuel subsidies, Zulum outlined several key interventions:

Implementation of a mass transportation system to ease commuting challenges.
Distribution of relief materials to over 35,000 returning households.
Enrolling over 94,000 vulnerable residents in a free healthcare program.

“The rebuilding of Borno is a collective responsibility. I remain committed to leading efforts that will transform our state and place its citizens on the path to sustainable prosperity,” Zulum stated.

The governor also commended the Christian community for its continued support and commitment to maintaining peace and unity in the state, acknowledging their role in fostering progress over the past five and a half years.
