The Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE), spearheaded by billionaire entrepreneur Elon Musk, has officially terminated 226 inefficient contracts valued at a total of $1.03 billion.

“Within the past 48 hours, agencies terminated 226 wasteful contracts totaling a ceiling value of $1.03 billion and achieved $555 million in savings,” DOGE announced on X. “This includes ending a $5.4 million IRS consulting agreement and a $20,000 National Science Foundation (NSF) management development contract that provided training materials aimed at understanding bias and unlocking potential.”

This development follows shortly after DOGE previously terminated 269 inefficient contracts valued at $845 million.
