The Federal Government of Nigeria has officially designated Monday, March 31, and Tuesday, April 1, 2025, as public holidays in observance of the Eid-el-Fitr festival.

The Minister of Interior, Dr. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, made the announcement on behalf of the government, extending warm congratulations to the Muslim Ummah on the successful completion of the Ramadan fast.

Call for Unity and Prayers for Nigeria

Dr. Tunji-Ojo encouraged Muslims to uphold the values of self-discipline, compassion, generosity, and peace. He further emphasized the significance of love, forgiveness, and solidarity in fostering a harmonious society.

According to a statement issued by the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Interior, Dr. Magdalene Ajani, the Minister also urged all Nigerians to utilize this festive period to pray for peace, stability, and national prosperity.
