In a decisive move to curb cybercrime, the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) arrested 59 suspected internet fraudsters during a strategic raid in the Mararaba area, near Abuja, Nasarawa State. The operation, conducted by the EFCC’s Abuja Zonal Directorate, targeted individuals allegedly involved in fraudulent online activities.

The coordinated raid took place along Abacha Road on Monday after credible intelligence linked the suspects to various cyber scams. During the operation, EFCC operatives seized 73 mobile phones of different brands believed to have been used in executing online fraud schemes.

The EFCC confirmed that the suspects are currently under investigation and will be charged to court once inquiries are concluded. This latest crackdown highlights the agency’s unwavering commitment to tackling cybercrime and protecting the public from internet-based scams.
