Federal Government Announces National Holidays for Easter Celebration
The Federal Government of Nigeria has officially declared Friday, April 18 and Monday, April 21, 2025, as public holidays in celebration of Good Friday and Easter Monday, key dates in the Christian calendar.
This announcement was made through an official statement from Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, the Minister of Interior, on Tuesday in Abuja.
“We congratulate Christians across the nation on this joyous Easter celebration,” said the Minister, extending heartfelt greetings to citizens.
The Essence of Easter: A Time for Reflection, Unity, and Love
Minister Tunji-Ojo highlighted the spiritual and national significance of Easter, urging all Nigerians to reflect on the sacrifice and love of Jesus Christ, who gave His life for humanity’s redemption.
He encouraged citizens to embrace the values of compassion, kindness, and community service during this season, stressing that these virtues are essential for fostering a united and peaceful Nigeria.
🇳🇬 National Growth and Renewed Hope Agenda
The Minister reiterated President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s commitment to the Renewed Hope Agenda, an initiative aimed at enhancing Nigeria’s economic development, national unity, and citizen empowerment.
“The Easter holidays should also serve as a time to pray for peace, stability, and continued growth in our country,” Tunji-Ojo added.
