Dayo Amusa Responds Strongly to Viral HIV Claims Linking Her to Other Nollywood Stars

Renowned Nigerian actress, Dayo Amusa, has finally broken her silence regarding the widespread allegation that she is living with HIV.

According to LMSINT MEDIA, a social media content creator, Olaoluwa Segun, released a viral video on Friday where he boldly listed the names of five popular Nigerian actors, including Dayo Amusa, alleging that they are HIV positive. The video spread rapidly across various online platforms, triggering discussions and controversies.

In a firm response posted via her verified Instagram handle, Dayo Amusa addressed the situation directly. She clarified that the content creator misleadingly referenced an educational post she originally made back in 2019.

Dayo Amusa refuted the claims, stressing unequivocally that she is HIV negative. She acknowledged making a public post six years ago, but explained that it was solely intended to raise awareness about HIV and encourage regular health screenings.

Amusa emphasized that her post was not a personal health disclosure but a social message aimed at educating people on the importance of knowing their HIV status. She advised that even if someone is diagnosed as HIV positive, they should seek proper medical care and understand that it is not a death sentence.

In her video, she further warned that she is prepared to pursue legal action against the content creator for defamation and misinformation.

“There is a video circulating widely on all social media channels in the past 24 hours, posted by a complete stranger. Many have started tagging me in this video,” she said.

“The said video is based on a post I made in 2019 about my HIV status, which was negative. My intention back then was purely educational—to remind people about the importance of knowing their health status and seeking medical help if needed. Having HIV does not equate to the end of life, and people need to understand that.”

Amusa expressed deep shock over how her message was misinterpreted and weaponized against her. She stated that the creator of the viral video acted irresponsibly by publishing such claims without conducting any verification or investigation.

“I find it alarming that someone would deliberately pick up an old educational post and twist it to falsely claim that I am HIV positive, grouping me with others in the process. This content has gained traction, with numerous comments and shares,” she lamented.

Concluding her statement, Dayo Amusa made it clear that she would not tolerate the spread of such damaging misinformation and vowed to ensure that the creator faces legal consequences.

“I will not let this pass quietly. You will serve as a scapegoat for this reckless behavior,” she firmly stated.
