Darkoo Declares Readiness for Motherhood but Prefers Not to Experience Pregnancy

Popular British-Nigerian music artist and rapper, Oluwafisayo Isa, professionally recognized as Darkoo, has publicly declared her readiness to start a family and have children. However, the Favourite Girl hitmaker made it clear that although she is keen on becoming a mother, she is not interested in personally going through the experience of carrying a child in her womb.

Darkoo, who has openly identified as gay in previous years, shared this personal insight during a candid conversation on the Madame Joyce podcast. The award-winning artiste stated emphatically that she envisions motherhood in her future but would rather have her partner carry the baby instead of herself.

“I am currently at that point in my life where I’m genuinely considering having children,” Darkoo explained during the interview. “I believe I would make an amazing mom. But honestly, I don’t want to carry the baby myself. My partner will carry it,” she affirmed.

She elaborated on her view of what truly defines motherhood, highlighting that being a mother is not solely about biological connections or childbirth. Instead, she emphasized that genuine motherhood is about expressing unconditional love, care, and nurturing a child beyond blood relationships.

In an earlier disclosure in 2024, Darkoo recounted the emotional relief she felt after coming out to her parents about her sexual orientation. According to the UK-based rapper, opening up to her mom and dad about her identity as a queer individual significantly lightened the emotional burden she had carried for years.

Darkoo shared that since that heartfelt conversation with her parents, she has experienced increased happiness and a more fulfilling connection with her true self.
