Dr. Emana Duke Ambroose-Amawhe, who served as the Deputy Governorship Candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the 2023 general elections in Cross River State, has officially announced her resignation from the party.

Her resignation was contained in a letter dated March 28, 2025, addressed to the chairman of Edem Odo Ward in Akpabuyo Local Government Area of Cross River State. She made it clear that her decision was immediate and stemmed from careful consideration.

However, after much reflection on the state of affairs within the party, I believe it is time to step aside. While I may be leaving the PDP, my commitment to the development of Cross River State and Nigeria remains unwavering.”

Dr. Ambroose-Amawhe was the Deputy Governorship Candidate for the PDP in Cross River State during the 2023 elections, running alongside Senator Sandy Onor. Before this, she aspired to represent the Bakassi/Akpabuyo/Calabar South Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives under the PDP.
