Cristiano Ronaldo, the renowned captain of Al Nassr, has shared a heartfelt message following his team’s elimination from the AFC Champions League semi-final stage.
Al Nassr’s hopes of clinching a title this season were dashed after a narrow 3-2 loss to Japan’s Kawasaki Frontale, leaving Ronaldo without a trophy for another year in Saudi Arabian football.
Earlier in the season, Al Nassr also faced disappointment in the King’s Cup, being knocked out in October. Currently, they are trailing behind Saudi Pro League leaders, Al-Ittihad, by a margin of eight points, with only five matches remaining in the league calendar.
Facing yet another trophyless season, Ronaldo took to his official X account to express gratitude to fans and commend the relentless efforts of his teammates.
He stated:
“Sometimes the dream has to wait. I’m proud of this team and everything we gave on the pitch. Thank you to all the fans who believed in us and stood by us every step of the way. Your support means the world.”
Despite the setback, Ronaldo remains committed and appreciative of the journey, emphasizing the importance of unity and fan dedication during challenging times.
