Portuguese football legend Cristiano Ronaldo has once again been recognised for his impact in Middle Eastern football after winning the Best Middle East Player award at the 2025 Globe Soccer Awards.
The former Real Madrid and Manchester United forward triumphed in a fan-voted category, edging out other notable stars including Karim Benzema, Riyad Mahrez, and Salem Al-Dawsari. The category focuses on outstanding performers across Middle Eastern leagues, particularly the Saudi Pro League, which has grown significantly in global attention over recent seasons.
This latest recognition represents Ronaldo’s second straight win in the Best Middle East Player category, following his success in 2024. Since arriving at Al-Nassr in 2023, the five-time Ballon d’Or winner has consistently delivered high-level performances, becoming one of the most influential figures in Saudi football.
During the 2025 season, Ronaldo delivered an impressive scoring record, netting 40 goals since celebrating his birthday in February. Achieving such numbers at this stage of his career highlights his enduring fitness, discipline, and competitive mentality, qualities that have defined his journey at the highest level of football.
The Globe Soccer Awards, established in 2010, are held annually in Dubai and are known for honouring excellence across multiple aspects of the sport. The awards recognise outstanding achievements by players, coaches, clubs, agents, and administrators who have made significant contributions to football worldwide.
Ronaldo’s latest accolade further cements his legacy as one of the most impactful footballers of his generation, both on and off the pitch, particularly within the rapidly evolving Middle Eastern football landscape.
