The London-based club became the first Premier League representative to appear in this year’s tournament.

Despite several promising attempts, the Major League Soccer (MLS) side struggled with their decision-making in the attacking zone after the break and couldn’t convert their chances.
The match was ultimately sealed in the 79th minute when Enzo Fernández produced a composed finish, ensuring all three points for Chelsea.
The Blues will return to action on Friday against Flamengo, while LAFC is scheduled to face Esperance of Tunisia on the same day, June 19.
