Nigeria’s standout shot-stopper, Chiamaka Nnadozie, has once again made headlines in the French Arkema Division 1 Féminine, earning a coveted nomination for the Best Goalkeeper of the Season. The nomination recognizes her exceptional performances with Paris FC, where she has proven to be a reliable last line of defense.
Nnadozie is one of three elite goalkeepers shortlisted for the prestigious accolade, joining Mary Earps of Paris Saint-Germain and Christiane Endler of Olympique Lyonnais. According to LMSINT MEDIA, the 24-year-old goalkeeper has maintained 10 clean sheets this season—outshining Earps, who has managed eight, and slightly trailing Endler, who leads with 13 clean sheets.
This is not the first time Nnadozie is making waves in French football. She made history in the previous season by becoming the first Nigerian and African to clinch the Best Goalkeeper Award in the French women’s top flight. Her remarkable consistency and agility have solidified her status as Africa’s top-rated female goalkeeper.
In the 2023/24 campaign, she was also honored by the National Union of Professional Footballers (UNFP) for her outstanding goalkeeping skills—further cementing her legacy as one of the best in women’s football globally.
With another nomination under her belt, Nnadozie continues to inspire the next generation of African female athletes, proudly representing Nigeria on the European stage.
