Former Manchester United icon Gary Neville has expressed confidence in Arsenal’s ability to overturn their first-leg defeat against Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) in the upcoming UEFA Champions League semi-final second leg.

The Premier League side will travel to Paris for the decisive clash scheduled for Wednesday, aiming to overcome a 1-0 loss suffered at the Emirates Stadium in London during the first leg of the tie.

Despite PSG securing a narrow win, Neville remains optimistic about Mikel Arteta’s team and their potential to triumph on the road. According to the Sky Sports pundit, PSG tends to falter under pressure in high-stakes matches at home.

“I truly believe Arsenal are capable of pulling it off. They can go to Paris and get the result they need,” Neville said on his Sky Sports podcast.

The ex-defender, recounting a personal visit to the Parc des Princes alongside David Beckham during a Real Madrid match, noted how the French champions exhibited signs of anxiety.

“There’s immense pressure on PSG to finally lift the Champions League trophy. The first 20 minutes will be intense and aggressive. If they manage to score early, the tension will remain high,” Neville added.

He emphasized that the upcoming encounter could mark a pivotal moment for Arsenal’s players.

“This is a defining match for Arsenal, both for the season and possibly for the careers of several players. Overcoming PSG and booking a spot in the Champions League final would be a monumental achievement,” Neville concluded.
