A Nigerian doctor based in Canada, Dr. Zo, has sparked widespread discussion on social media after advising Nigerians living abroad to reconsider sending money back home. In a viral video, Dr. Zo shared his perspective that Nigerians living in Nigeria may actually enjoy a better quality of life compared to those abroad.

He emphasized the lively atmosphere in Nigeria and urged Nigerians in the diaspora to reconsider their financial sacrifices. Admiring the vibrant life in Lagos, he stated, “When you’re abroad, especially in the West, making money and sending it to someone in Nigeria, remember that the person you’re sending money to is living a better lifestyle than you. They’re enjoying more than you are.”

Reflecting on his own recent experiences, Dr. Zo added, “Nigeria is a wonderful place. In fact, we should fast and pray for the government to work, because the Jollof rice in Nigeria is something you can’t find anywhere else in the world.”
