By-Elections: Soludo Declares Labour Party and ADC Dead in Anambra, Taunts Obi

Anambra State Governor, Chukwuma Charles Soludo, has ridiculed former Labour Party presidential candidate, Peter Obi, after the outcome of the recent by-elections in the state.

Speaking at a victory event in Nanka, Orumba North Local Government Area, on Sunday, Soludo asserted that the Labour Party (LP) and the African Democratic Congress (ADC) have become politically irrelevant in Anambra.

According to Soludo, the results of Saturday’s by-elections revealed that both parties are “dead” and “non-existent” within the state’s political landscape.

The governor, while celebrating the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) victory, directly mocked Obi for backing ADC candidates during the polls. He stressed that despite Obi’s support, ADC lacked any meaningful political structure in Anambra.

“ADC does not exist in Anambra. We proved it yesterday, Saturday. Labour Party is already dead,” Soludo declared.

He explained further that the ADC-led opposition coalition attempted to use the Anambra by-election as a test of its political strength ahead of 2027. However, Soludo claimed the results showed a clear rejection, with over 75 percent of the electorate backing APGA.

The governor concluded his remarks by reiterating that APGA remains the political movement of Ndi Anambra.

Meanwhile, LMSINT MEDIA recalls that Obi, who currently belongs to the Labour Party, had earlier aligned himself with the ADC coalition in a bid to build a stronger opposition alliance against President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for the 2027 general election.
