BREAKING: Tinubu Declares Nationwide Emergency on Security

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has officially announced a national security emergency, marking one of the most decisive actions of his administration toward addressing Nigeria’s growing insecurity challenges. According to the statement, the President instructed the Nigeria Police Force to immediately begin recruiting 20,000 additional officers, raising the total number of planned new intakes to 50,000 personnel. To fast-track this recruitment process, President Tinubu authorized the use of National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) camps as temporary training centres.
