Nigerian socialite and crossdresser, Okuneye Idris Olanrewaju, better known as Bobrisky, has openly criticized members of the Nigerian Senate for their perceived indifference toward the ongoing violence and killings in Benue State.
Taking to his Instagram story on Monday, Bobrisky expressed disappointment, comparing the swift legislative attention his legal issues received to the silence surrounding the tragic events in Benue.
“Senators and House of Representatives didn’t summon an emergency meeting concerning the killings happening in Benue,” Bobrisky lamented.
“But they quickly gathered when it was about Bobrisky. Disgraceful! What a shameful country.”
The controversial figure faced legal proceedings in 2024 after being charged by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) for the misuse of the Nigerian currency, the naira.
Although found guilty, later reports indicated that Bobrisky did not serve any prison sentence following the court ruling, sparking public criticism and debate over the country’s justice system and selective governance.
