Big Brother Naija Season 10 housemate, Sultana, has opened up about a deeply emotional chapter from her past, leaving many viewers touched by her story.
During Sunday’s live episode, Sultana had a heartfelt conversation with fellow housemate Jason Jae at the garden area. In that moment, she disclosed that she was forced into marriage at the tender age of 15 years old, and today, she is a proud mother of two daughters.
According to Sultana, the decision to marry her off was not hers, and she never wanted it. However, she explained that despite the difficult circumstances, her resilience and bold personality helped her break free from the situation.
“I was married off really young, as a child,” Sultana revealed.
Jason Jae, shocked by the revelation, asked: “Oh wow, how old were you?”
Sultana replied, “I was about 15.”
She continued, “Was it something I wanted? No. But it happened, and the truth is, my stubbornness got me out of it. I was already growing, and because I like piercings and tattoos—I haven’t even gotten the kind of tattoo I want because I keep thinking of my mother.”
Her revelation sheds light on the challenges many young girls face in forced marriages, a practice that continues to be an issue in several parts of the world. Sultana’s story is not just a personal testimony but also a reminder of the importance of resilience, self-expression, and the courage to reclaim one’s life.
As the show progresses, fans are keen to see how her strength and authenticity will shape her journey in the Big Brother Naija house.
